Tour: ArcelorMittal is a globally oriented group of companies with more than 190,000 employees in over 60 countries worldwide. In Duisburg, high-quality material is produced in the form of long products (billets, blooms & wire-rod) for further processing industries such as automotive for over 150 years. The steel plant consists of 2 BOFs, 2 vacuum degassing stations, one ladle furnace, two argon stirring stations and two continuous casters. A small part of the production goes directly to the customers’. The majority is either processed further in the billet rolling mill or goes to the wire rolling mill as input material.

HKM Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann
Location: Ehinger Straße 200 / Mannesmannstr. 2 (Entrance) 47259 Duisburg, Germany
Tour: The tour begins with a film about steel production and the HKM steelworks. Afterwards, we equip you with the necessary protective clothing (protective jacket, goggles, hard hat, radio receiver and headphones) and start our tour of the site. We stop at the harbour, the coking plant and the blast furnace. The highlight of the tour is the walk-through of our steelworks.

On a plant tour the participants are invited to experience the transformation of steel production and the plant site. This worksite visit demonstrates production processes of today and tomorrow.

The Site tour will take the visitors by bus on our 750 Hectare big Steel site of Tata Steel in Ijmuiden.
We will tell and show you how steel is made now and how Green steel will be made in the future using Hydrogen.
Driving along the Harbors, Ore preparation and Blast furnaces.
We will tour the Basic Oxygen Steel plant with the new Continuous Caster, The Hot strip mill and Hot dip Galvanizing line.
